The awards were presented on May 6, 2026, at the Golden Circle Celebration Dinner held at the Galt House in Louisville, Kentucky. These awards honor individuals and funeral homes that have displayed exceptional dedication, innovation, and commitment to excellence int he profession. 

The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR) is proud to announce Chris Miller, owner of Thomas Miller Mortuary & Crematory in Corona, California, as the winner of the Golden Light Award. This award is the highest recognition by OGR, and was presented during the Golden Circle Awards Dinner on Wednesday, May 6, at PROGRESS, OGR's signature annual event. 

The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR) welcomed funeral professionals from across North America and beyond to Louisville, Kentucky, for PROGRESS 2026, held May 5-7. The association's signature event brought together independently owned funeral homes and supplier partners for three days of education, networking, leadership development and celebration of excellence within the profession.

The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR) Foundation has named the 2026 recipients of its Awards of Excellence Scholarships, recognizing six mortuary students for their dedication to the funeral service profession. The Foundation will distribute a total of $10,000 in scholarship funding to support their continued education.
