Grief is not a permanent state, but a personal process that one goes through as a means of coping with loss. While everyone experiences it differently, the pain is universal. Emotions such as sadness, guilt, anger, or fear are natural during this time. Support services can provide a safe space to express your feelings, whether with a professional or alongside others navigating their own loss.

You don't have to face grief alone, OGR member funeral homes are there to help you through your grief process. The first step in accessing grief support is reaching out to your local OGR member funeral home, who can connect you to resources to help you through the process.

My Grief Angels

OGR is proud to partner with My Grief Angels, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free, peer-led grief support resources. Through this partnership, OGR and My Grief Angels offer families access to virtual support groups, educational videos, grief resources, and more. My Grief Angels offers a variety of public resources on their website.

OGR member funeral homes can log-in and access additional resources from My Grief Angels by visiting the OGR member portal.

Coping with Holidays

Holidays are especially difficult if you've recently lost someone through death. By planning ahead, however, and dealing realistically with your expectations, you can turn holidays from a more difficult time into instead a time for reflection and even rejuvenation. We've compiled a list of resources and advice for this specific season of life.
