The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR) is a professional association of independently owned and operated funeral homes dedicated to ethical service to all. Founded in 1928, it is our mission to make independent funeral homes exceptional. We do this by building and supporting member education, information exchange, professional and business development, and networking through a wide range of programs, services and resources. Our Standards of Ethical Conduct guide our members' business practices and philosophy, allowing them to provide "service measured not by gold, but by the Golden Rule." Headquartered in Indianapolis, our member funeral homes are located throughout the United States and many other countries.
Looking for a funeral home you can trust? Compassion, respect and integrity are what matter most when entrusting your loved one into someone else's care. That's why choosing a Golden Rule funeral home means you are choosing care you can trust. Golden Rule funeral homes are part of the International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR), a community of independently owned and operated funeral homes that pledge to uphold the highest ethical and service standards in the profession. Fewer than 5% of funeral homes meet the standards required to be part of the Golden Rule association. Each Golden Rule funeral home takes a pledge to adhere to OGR's 11 ethical standards of care. When you choose a Golden Rule funeral home, you choose a funeral home guided by a simple promise: "Service measured not by gold, but by the Golden Rule."
