OGR AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS AT ANNUAL CONFERENCE

AUSTIN, TEXAS, MAY 10, 2016 – The International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR) is proud to announce that it awarded the annual Awards of Excellence Scholarships at its Annual Conference & Supplier Showcase in Las Vegas, NV on April 27.  The scholarships provide assistance to students about to graduate from mortuary school and enter the funeral profession.

The 2016 Silver Award of Excellence was presented to Candace Rivera of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. She received a $2,000 scholarship to help complete her studies. The recipient of the 2016 Gold Award of Excellence was presented toWalter Reghi, Jr. who attends Worsham College of Mortuary Science. He received a $3,500 scholarship to help complete his studies.

“OGR is happy to be able to help mortuary science students realize their goals. I am sure these students will make a wonderful addition to the field of funeral service, and I congratulate them on winning these scholarships,” said Bill Brock, outgoing OGR president.
