OGR ADDS LICENSED FUNERAL DIRECTOR AS NEW MEMBER SERVICES DIRECTOR

AUSTIN, TEXAS – OGR, the premier association for independent funeral homes that have pledged to adhere to “Golden Rule” ethical standards, has named Laine Phillips as its new Member Resources Director.

Laine brings over 30 years of diversified funeral service experience to OGR. He is a licensed funeral director and embalmer, staff trainer and business development expert. He began his career at Porter-Loring Funeral Home, a family-owned funeral home in San Antonio, Texas, and has since managed multi-location funeral homes, start-up funeral homes, and  combination funeral home/cemetery locations. He used that experience as a basis for helping funeral homes throughout the United States increase their growth, revenue and productivity. He most recently worked as a “Subject Matter Expert” for Batesville Casket Company.

“Laine’s background makes him the perfect person to act as a one-stop resource for Golden Rule funeral home owners and staff,” said OGR Executive Director & CEO Mark Allen. He added, “He understands the information and tools funeral professionals need to turn today’s challenges into opportunities.”

“My new role gives me an opportunity to provide OGR members with the ideas and resources they need to serve families in ways that elevate the value of memorialization,” said Phillips.
