Dine Arounds in Historic Savannah

Wednesday, April 4, 7:00 p.m.

After attending the brand new opening session “The Solution Room”, board a ferry with fellow OGR members and cross the river into the historic district of Savannah to dine on all kinds of southern and international cuisine. Dine-around options will be announced in early 2018.

altMilestone Celebrations
Thursday, April 5, 9:15 - 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 - 11:00 a.m.

Broken into two, 15-minute blocks, OGR will recognize funeral homes for their years of membership with OGR. Recipients celebrating milestone years of membership with OGR will receive their Golden Rule Funeral Home plaques and certificates, a press release, and a professional photograph.


Service of Remembrance* & Celebratory Luncheon
Thursday, April 5, 12:15 - 1:30 p.m.
Celebrate all the good funeral service accomplished in 2017. At this year's luncheon, OGR's
Community Service Award and Exemplary Service Awards will be given to firms for all their hard work last year. The Foundation's Awards of Excellence Scholarship will be awarded to two worthy students who've demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence and working for an independent funeral home.  OGR will also recognize the individual receiving the Golden Light Award for a lifetime contribution to funeral service.

*The Service of Remembrance, honoring those who died in 2017, will be held at the beginning of the luncheon.

Thursday, April 5, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.

This year’s kickoff event with exhibitors will take place on the second evening of the conference and will feature drinks and a putting competition on the lawn before dining on delicious barbecue. Held on the golf course, this will be full of conversation, good food, and a little competition.

Friday, April 6, 1:00 - 2:15 p.m.

OGR's Board of Directors and President will be installed during lunch. Friends and family are invited to join in this celebration.

f Savannah Dinner Party - hosted by OGR's President
Friday, April 6, 6:00 p.m.

The closing event, hosted by the newly elected OGR President, will feature food from Savannah and vendors from around the city. Join friends and peers on the lawn, beside the Savannah River, for southern cooking, fun art, and ambient music. The dress is casual for the closing party.  



altPrivate House Walking Tour, Saturday, April 7, 9:00 a.m.

Tour three private, historic homes, which are closed to the public in this exclusive walking tour. A trolley will pick you up from the hotel and will drop you off each home: the Marsha Thompson House, the Mercer House Museum, and the Duncan Home. The tour will end with a cool glass of lemonade or iced tea from one of the quaint coffee shops located in the Historic District. 

Details: Per person price based on a minimum of 20 people. 3.5-hour tour.
Cost: $99 inclusive of transportation, tour guide, admission into 3 private homes, lemonade or iced tea in the Historic District, sales tax, gratuity and the City of Savannah Preservation Fee.
